Ayra Starr Releases The Music Video For “Rhythm & Blues”

Ayra Starr is executing some significant plans.

Beninese-Nigerian singer “Rhythm & Blues” was published by Mavin Records around this time last month, along with the announcement that it would be the lead single from her much anticipated follow-up to her critically acclaimed debut, 19 & Dangerous.

Although there are currently few details about the album, she has released the video for “Rhythm & Blues” in the interim. The Sparrq-produced song, another soulful Afrobeats masterpiece, ushers in a new chapter for Starr with a rich and deep sound as she fully commits to both her new love interest and this new phase of her career.

Starr is at the crossroads of the genre’s progression in terms of sound and expression. Women, whether publicly acknowledged or not, have made significant contributions to Afrobeats’ staying force and the success of new iterations in the genre and culture. And here is the beginning of a new age for a new genre, and Starr is at the helm, ready for whatever phase comes next.

She enlists the help of seasoned professional and Nigerian-born photographer Peter ‘Earthboi’ Famosa for the video. She retains a certain amount of privacy even while she declares her love in the open, all of which are depicted in a rich, autumnal color scheme. Check it out below:
