Since his comeback from a hiatus, Davido has given numerous interviews and is frequently featured in the news for what he says about his music and his progress. The Nigerian-American artist David Adeleke, better known by his stage name Davido, recently said that having a blue passport has simplified going abroad for him as he rarely encounters Visa issues. According to him, having an American passport always gives him an advantage when some band members have trouble getting their visas approved.
The musician, born in Atlanta, claimed that the American passport was worth more to him than “a million dollars.” This was said in a recent interview he gave to Omega. Davido, though, acknowledged being proud to be a Nigerian. He said:
“That part of my life didn’t come out until I blew up. People thought I live in Nigeria. It was later on in my career that people realized that I did Alabama College and stuff like that. It wasn’t like I was introduced as an American artist in Nigeria. I’ve been in the streets back home. The only thing is that I could fly anytime I wanted, like go to America anytime I wanted.
“To date, I don’t care how much money you’ve got; that blue passport is worth more than a million Dollars. For example, we were going to Australia for a tour, to get the structure is so hard because some of my band members were having difficulties getting the papers just because of their passports.
“But obviously, it’s kind of easier for me because of the blue passport,”
