Jon Bon Jovi Special Announced By ABC News

A one-hour special from ABC News Studios has been announced, in which co-anchor of Good Morning America Michael Strahan will have an exclusive sit-down interview with the famous rock icon Jon Bon Jovi. “Michael Strahan x Jon Bon Jovi: Halfway There” will debut on ABC on Sunday, April 28 at 10 p.m. EDT, and will be available for streaming on Hulu the following day.

In the open conversation, Bon Jovi looks back on the difficulties he and the band overcame en route to leading one of the biggest bands in history. Following a vocal cord injury that almost ended Strahan’s career, Bon Jovi discusses the band’s split from longtime guitarist Richie Sambora and gives Strahan an honest evaluation of his condition.

Intimate tales of his childhood in New Jersey—a location that would later serve as the inspiration for many of his famous songs—and his early years with the band are discussed. He additionally takes into account the steadfast support he received from his parents, his 35-year wife, his family, and fans.

The special also includes a behind-the-scenes look at the band’s new Hulu documentary, Thank You, Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story, which debuted at SXSW and is a four-part celebration of the band’s upcoming 40th anniversary and future plans.
