The artist has firmly declared his innocence, emphasizing that he played no role in the unfortunate incident.

The music industry and fans alike were plunged into mourning following the sudden passing of Mohbad. Addressing these allegations, Marley released an official statement on his Instagram account, clarifying his position and expressing his deep sorrow over the loss.

In his statement, Marley highlighted the challenges he has faced in recent days, with numerous stories and accusations targeting him. He expressed his shock and grief over Mohbad’s death, emphasizing the close bond they shared. Marley further clarified that while disagreements are common in the music industry, their disputes never reached a level where harm was wished upon the other. He also revealed that he had been abroad since August 31, 2023, and had no knowledge of the events leading up to Mohbad’s death.

In light of the ongoing police investigation, Marley announced his plans to return to Nigeria to assist authorities and provide his account of events. He emphasized his commitment to cooperating with the police and expressed confidence in his eventual exoneration.

The artist also addressed rumors about his involvement in illicit activities, stating, “The rumors regarding the label being a drug cartel are untrue. I am not a drug lord, neither do I belong to any cult or fraternity.”

Mohbad’s association with Marley’s record label ended in September 2022. Following his death on September 12, 2023, speculations arose linking Marley and his label to the incident. However, with Marley’s recent statement, he hopes to set the record straight and work towards finding the truth behind the tragic event.
