American rapper and record producer Hykeem Jamaal Carter Jr., better known by his stage name Baby Keem, was born on October 22, 2000. Keem, who was born and raised in Carson, California, first became well-known after the single “Orange Soda” from his second mixtape, Die For My Bitch (2019), was made available. Later, he would work with American singer Kanye West on the song “Praise God,” which peaked at number 20 on the Billboard Hot 100 list and was given a platinum certification by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

With the release of The Melodic Blue, his debut studio album, in September 2021 via pgLang and Columbia Records, Keem would continue to rise in popularity. The album debuted on the US Billboard 200 list at position five. His collaboration with his cousin Kendrick Lamar on the song “Family Ties” propelled him into his second Billboard Hot 100 top 20 and earned him a Grammy for Best Rap Performance.
