Lil Yachty Explains Why He Won’t Join Lil Baby On Tour

Lil Yachty has always stood out in the hip-hop scene as a one-of-a-kind talent. For example, in 2016, he released the mixtape Lil Boat, which was dubbed “bubblegum trap” as a new subgenre. Lil Boat was a joy to listen to from beginning to end, from the high-pitched auto-tune to the effervescent beats.

While this sound has gotten positive feedback from Yachty’s fans, it is evident that it is not for everyone. Yachty is well aware of this, and in an interview with DJ Akademiks for his Off The Record podcast, the rapper stated that he could never go on tour with Lil Baby, his labelmate.

“I’m not going in front of Lil Baby, bro,” said Yachty. “Motherfuckers gonna look at me crazy, ‘What the fuck n***a, get off that stage.’ I’m not going in front of that n***a at all… We are in such different lanes, if someone’s coming to see him, they are not tryna hear me. We are on two different ends of the spectrum.”

Yachty has a lot of bangers in his library, and his fans usually go crazy when he performs. For the time being, though, you’re more likely to see him on a bill alongside Tyler, the Creator than Lil Baby.
