Asake Claims To Be Unaffected By The Grammy Loss While Teasing A New Album

In a recent feature for GQ Magazine, Nigerian Neo-fuji phenomenon, Asake, provided insights into his journey.

With his massive ascent from relative obscurity to one of the top music singers from Africa, Asake has had a fantastic journey since coming into the public in 2022. In a recent interview, Asake discussed his loss to South African singer Tyla for the Best African Music Performance category at the 66th Grammy Awards.

Even though he was one of the favorites, the hitmaker—who was nominated alongside Olamide for their hit song “Amapiano”—said he wasn’t phased by the Grammy loss. Since he knew how much getting nominated meant to him, Asake didn’t see it as a loss.

Asake also said in the interview that although his three-year electrifying mainstream career was brief, it took him many years to get his current position—even though many people who only care about success ignore the years he spent out of the spotlight. Asake also discussed his eagerly awaited third album, which he promises will expand on his versatility.

Additionally, with the publication of his latest hit track, “Only Me,” on his birthday, Asake officially began his 2024. He also made a memorable cameo on Zlatan’s song “Bust Down,” giving fans something to look forward to till his next release.
