Benny The Butcher Has Praises For Drake’s Attempts At Pushing The Culture Forward
Not many people are complimenting Drake these days. He lost the battle against Kendrick Lamar. Not a good appearance. He now has to deal with the reality that he is dubbed a paedophile in the song “Not Like Us,” which is currently the number-one track on the charts. The Toronto rapper will make a comeback (assuming he avoids legal issues), but he recently received encouragement from an unlikely place. Benny the Butcher, one of the original members of the gritty rap group Griselda, praised Drake’s musical abilities. The Griselda rapper enjoys listening to The Six Gods. Benny the Butcher’s praise for Drake’s musical abilities could boost his confidence and inspire him to continue creating music. Despite recent setbacks, Drake may find solace in the support of fellow artists like Benny the Butcher.
During an April episode on Montreality, Benny talked about the rapper. He thinks people who despise Drake for writing songs for radio stations are just jealous of his penchant for it. The last statement is particularly intriguing in light of Lamar’s accusations against the Toronto rapper, calling him a “colonizer” and a “culture vulture.” These claims have been levelled at Drake for years, but Lamar put them in writing. This adds an exciting layer to the ongoing debate surrounding Drake’s influence in the music industry. It will be interesting to see how Drake responds to these accusations and if it affects his future collaborations with other artists.

In 2020, Drake complimented Benny the Butcher and the Griselda group in an interview with Rap Radar. “I really like that whole cliquing up; Griselda stuff is just amazing,” he stated. Drake answered “yes” in response to his willingness to work with Benny the Butcher. He declared, “I’m down.” “It was also during an interview that Benny showed me love.” They’re doing fantastic work, in my opinion.” Drake and Conductor Williams, a frequent collaborator of Griselda, have already collaborated, so perhaps more between the various teams will be heard.
