Burna Boy’s ‘ I Told Them’ album achieves new milestone on Spotify

Burna Boy’s “I Told Them” album is now a new record holder for the Afrobeats genre, strongly dominating in over 69 countries on Apple Music.

Burna Boy, real name Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, has once again hit a significant mark with the 200 million Spotify plays of his fifth album, “I Told them.” In the same manner, four of his previous albums, including “Love, Damini,” “African Giant,” “Twice As Tall,” “Outside,” have each accumulated beyond 200 million Spotify plays.

Since his latest album’s release in August, the album has gathered millions of streams across all music platforms. To promote the blockbuster album, Burna recently announced a world tour. And this is on the heels of concluding an extensive tour in support of “Love, Damini.”

The self-acclaimed African Giant has gone on to sell out stadiums across the globe. He even made history after being the first African artist to sell out a 60,000-person stadium in the UK. Burna Boy’s remarkable achievement of having five albums reach 200 million Spotify streams highlights a fine blend of his insane work ethic and exceptional skill.

The hard work he has put in has created a commercial appeal to his sound, which has in turn propelled him to the top of the worldwide music scene.
