Burna Boy’s Mother Discloses The Moment She Realized He Would Be Great

Damini “Burna Boy” Ogulu’s mother, Bose Ogulu, claims that even as a teenager, she could see that her son would be good at something. The talent manager claimed that she began spotting indicators of her son’s future self when he was about 13 or 14 years old.

In a recent interview with the BBC, she made this claim and said that despite his accomplishments, Burna is still a work in progress. Mrs. Ogulu admitted that she had to leave the language school she was overseeing in order to manage the Grammy winner, a choice she claims to have felt confident about.

She admitted that she wasn’t ready for Burna Boy to leave school to focus on his budding music career, though. Ms Ogulu, affectionately known as Mama Burna by admirers, competes for the title of ultimate “momager” with Kardashian matriarch Kris Jenner. Mama Burna learned the craft from her father, who worked as a manager for late Nigerian icon Fela Kuti. Aside from music, she is a successful businesswoman and linguist.

Burna Boy was nominated for two Grammys before winning one in 2021. He won the prize for the best album of world music for his 2020 release, “Twice as Tall,” which entails all her sacrifices eventually paid off.
