Drake’s Curse Resumes; Star Loses Bet As Francis Ngannou Suffers KO

Drake’s luck has been consistently inconsistent when it comes to sports betting. He recently lost $615K when former MMA star Francis Ngannou suffered a brutal second-round knockout at the hands of former boxing world champion Anthony Joshua. Despite his previous fight against Tyson Fury, Ngannou was no match for Joshua. He was knocked down twice before Joshua delivered a clean uppercut, leaving Ngannou unconscious. The fighter required oxygen after he regained consciousness.

Drake’s sports betting luck has been nothing short of terrible. He lost $700K when Dricus du Plessis defeated Sean Strickland via split decision at UFC 297. Although the fight was back-and-forth, the South African claimed the title of middleweight. Moreover, this was the fourth middleweight title fight where the belt changed hands. Drake would have won $1.4 million if Strickland had defended his title. The losing streak continued with his $500K bet on Israel Adesanya to beat Strickland in September 2023 at UFC 293. Unfortunately, the American delivered a stunning performance and defeated Adesanya, causing Drake to lose again. Strickland’s victory is regarded as the most remarkable upset in UFC middleweight history. Drake would have won $920K if he had bet correctly.

Thankfully, Drake’s recent Super Bowl bet proved to be successful. He won over $2 million last month.
