Elon Musk, the CEO of SpaceX and Shivon Zilis, the Neuralink director, was photographed by Walter Isaacson, with the CEO holding one of his twin babies on his lap along with his partner, who was also holding the other twin. The photo was taken when the babies were 16 months old and only recently released, with the group relaxing on a poolside patio at home in Austin, Texas, owned by mutual friend Zilis.

Musk has fathered a total of ten children so far. He had six children with his ex-wife, Justine Wilson, but unfortunately, their first child passed away from SIDS. In November 2021, Musk and his partner, Talulah Riley, welcomed their twins secretly, but the news didn’t come out until July the following year. The names of their twins were not disclosed until Walter Isaacson released the new photo and excerpt. Musk has eight children from his previous relationships and two with his ex-girlfriend, Grimes.

In their pursuit to have children, Musk and Wilson opted for IVF and had twins, Griffin and Vivian Musk, in April 2004. They continued to expand their family through IVF, and in January 2006, they had triplet sons Kai, Saxon, and Damian. However, things didn’t work out between the couple, and they got divorced two years later. Musk went on to have two marriages with “Westworld” star Talulah Riley and a brief relationship with actress Amber Heard before dating singer Grimes in May 2018.

The musician and Elon Musk had their first child, X AE A-Xii (nicknamed X), in May 2020. However, in September 2021, Page Six reported exclusively that the couple had broken up after being together for three years. They briefly reconciled their relationship and had a daughter named Exa Dark Sideræl Musk via surrogate in December 2021. The parents have nicknamed her Y. In March 2022, Grimes revealed that she and Musk had separated again after their daughter Y was born.

Walter Isaacson, an author, has followed SpaceX’s CEO, Elon Musk, for about three years. On Wednesday, he shared a sneak peek into Musk’s life as a father and an excerpt from his upcoming biography about the tech billionaire. Isaacson, who is writing the biography on Musk, released the image via social media. He also shared a photo of the Tesla founder looking at a robot with his son X AE A-XII.

Isaacson wrote in Time Magazine that Musk had invited him to Zilis’ home in March via a text message: “There are a few important things I would like to talk to you about. Can only be done in person.”

According to Isaacson,

“When I got to Austin, he was at the house of Shivon Zilis, the Neuralink executive who was the mother of two of his children and who had been his intellectual companion on artificial intelligence since the founding of OpenAI eight years earlier,”

The author stated that Musk had the group leave their phones inside as they chatted outside because he was concerned about someone potentially monitoring their conversation. Isaacson noted,

“But he later agreed that I could use what he said about AI in my book,”

During the meeting, Isaacson remembered that Zilis had prepared coffee for the group, and everything seemed normal until Musk began discussing the alarming risks of AI and machine learning. Isaacson also mentioned that Musk acknowledged that he didn’t have the time to focus on running X (previously known as Twitter) while humanity was on the brink of a possible AI takeover. Isaacson wrote,

“For a moment I was struck by the oddness of the scene,” “We were sitting on a suburban patio by a tranquil backyard swimming pool on a sunny spring day, with two bright-eyed twins learning to toddle, as Musk somberly speculated about the window of opportunity for building a sustainable human colony on Mars before an AI apocalypse destroyed earthly civilization.”

Musk had told Isaacson, adding,

“I can’t just sit around and do nothing,”  “With AI coming, I’m sort of wondering whether it’s worth spending that much time thinking about Twitter. Sure, I could probably make it the biggest financial institution in the world. But I have only so many brain cycles and hours in the day. I mean, it’s not like I need to be richer or something.”
