Ice Cube Is All Smiles As Basketball Hall Of Fame Award Is Named After Him

Once an OG, always an OG…

The Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame has formally recognized Ice Cube with an award established in his honor. An exhibit honoring those who utilize sports to better the community was displayed, along with a video of the N.W.A. star accepting the Ice Cube Impact Award, which was posted to Cube’s Instagram on Sunday, January 14. Along with a photo of himself holding the trophy, the legendary rapper posted a second message on the occasion. Indeed, once an OG, always an OG.

He wrote,

“Had a remarkable time at the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame today,”

“So honored to see the trophy and exhibit for The Ice Cube Impact Award. Can’t wait to reward people in the future who positively impact us through the game of basketball.”

The veteran rapper was honored by the organization for his “extraordinary contributions to the world of basketball, his unparalleled passion for the game and his unwavering commitment to encouraging crucial dialogues surrounding inclusivity, equal opportunity, and racial and social justice while contributing to initiatives focused on education and community development.”

The Ice Cube Impact Award is right up there with all the other honors and prizes he has received throughout the years, in his opinion. The BIG3 basketball league, which includes legends and international stars, is one of Cube’s most important contributions to the game of basketball. After being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2016, Ice Cube received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame the following year.
