Legendary Comedian, Dave Chappelle, Bring Out Burna Boy And Travis Scott For His MSG Show

Dave Chapelle, the famous comedian and creator of the controversial Chapelle’s Show, celebrated his 50th birthday in style. On Tuesday, August 22, the comedian kicked off his ‘It’s a Celebration B!%?#&$! Tour’ at the famed Madison Square Garden venue.

He shared the stage with famous Nigerian musician Burna Boy and American rapper Travis Scott, much to the amazement of his audience. Both artists sing him a happy birthday song and surprise him with sets. This comes only days after the African giant declared in a recent interview with Apple Music that Afrobeats is empty and without substance.

He claims to have established the Afro-fusion genre in order to create more substantive music. These statements elicited a wide range of reactions from both celebrities and followers. They expressed their displeasure with Burna’s remarks and vigorously defended the Afrobeats music. Celebrities such as Joey Akan, Pheelz, and Bizzle Osikoya have spoken out against Burna Boy’s stance.

Some fans believe that Afrobeats does not have to meet anyone’s standard of substance in order to be good or pleasant music. However, based on the response he received in Madison Square Garden during his appearance on Dave Chappelle’s comedy tour, it is evident that he creates music that people enjoy and will continue to support.
