Rema Set To Headline South Africa’s Biggest Afrobeats Festival

Alongside Kendrick Lamar, Afrobeats icon Rema will headline the Hey Neighbour event in South Africa. Rema, the winner of the MTV Awards, will perform live at the Hey Neighbour Music Festival in South Africa alongside other Afrobeat artists and international celebrities. The international sensation just dropped a new song, “Pretty Girl”, featuring Ice Spice. He has also proactively sent in a “for your consideration” request for possible 66th Grammy Awards nominations. The award ceremony is set to take place in the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, USA, on February 4, 2024.

The three-day Hey Neighbour festival is an ode to Afrobeats’ music. Through music, the event hopes to foster community and foster connections. The most extensive roster of African and UK musicians will be included at the fête, sponsored by Heineken, Coca-Cola, Nestle’s Kit-Kat, and MTV.

The Hey Neighbour Music Festival is expected to blend international sensations and Afrobeat classics in Pretoria, South Africa, from December 8 to 10, 2023. Renowned Afrobeats musicians will perform, including Tyla, Uncle Waffles, Tyler ICU, Musa Keys, Blxckie, and Sho MadJozi. The three-day event will feature performances by Kendrick Lamar, The Chainsmokers, H.E.R., Khalid, and Swedish House Mafia, among other international superstars.

To commemorate its 150th anniversary, Heineken teamed up with Hey Neighbor and pledged to popularize the festival. Marcel Swain, the director of marketing at Heineken, stated in a recent news release.,

“Celebrating 150 years with a festival of this magnitude only seems fitting in the spirit of Mzansi. We are elevating the celebrations with this partnership by allowing everyone to enjoy good times with Heineken, one way or another”.
