The St. John Carnival, also known as the St. John Celebration, organizers have announced that Nigerian performer Flavour would grace the stage on the event’s last day. The St. John Carnival, which will take place between June 28 and July 4, 2023, is one of the most eagerly anticipated festivals among the principal islands of the US Virgin Islands (USVI).
The St. John Carnival is a dynamic combination of African, European, and Caribbean traditions with a rich history that dates back to the early 20th century. Emancipation Day, a regional festival honoring the abolition of slavery, and the Fourth of July, a celebration of American independence, fall on the same day as the festivities. Since 1960, the Carnival has expanded into a week-long event that has won over both residents and tourists.
