Reports Says NewJeans Members “Each Earned Over USD3.7M” In 2023

According to recently disclosed electronic documents by ADOR, NewJeans, a well-known K-pop girl group, received a substantial payment of approximately USD 3.7 million each in 2023, amounting to a total fee of USD 19 million for the group. This information has emerged amidst a dispute between the K-pop agency and its parent company, HYBE, over the control of the K-pop agency. The documents also revealed ADOR’s 2023 revenue to be KRW 110.3 billion (USD 80 million), a fivefold increase from the previous year. This significant increase in revenue helped ADOR achieve an operating profit of KRW 33.5 billion (USD 24.3 million), following a loss of KRW 4.0 billion (USD 2.9 million) in the prior year. Moreover, the documents disclosed that ADOR’s revenue growth was mainly due to the success of NewJeans in the global market.

In response to these developments, HYBE has confirmed that it will file a complaint against ADOR executives, including CEO Min Hee-jin, for breach of trust and other allegations related to the ongoing disagreement between the entertainment giant and ADOR’s management. Despite this dispute, NewJeans is still planning to release new music next month, according to a source with knowledge of the matter. The girl group had previously announced the upcoming release of two single albums, and fans eagerly await these new releases.

ADOR’s recent disclosure of electronic documents has shed some light on the conflict between HYBE and ADOR over the control of the K-pop agency. It has also revealed ADOR’s significant revenue growth, mainly due to the global popularity of NewJeans and the impressive payment that the group received in 2023.
