Robbers Target Mariah Carey’s House In The Atlanta Region

Mariah Carey was the most recent victim in a run of Sandy Springs home invasions that began in October. While the Grammy-winning musician was on vacation at a mansion in the Hamptons on July 27, Carey’s home was broken into, according to investigators.

The crime was a part of a months-long investigation into a number of burglaries in the metro Atlanta region that targeted celebrity homes, the Sandy Springs Police Department revealed on Monday. Authorities think a group is in charge. Sgt. Matthew McGinnis said the department anticipates additional arrests after the four made in July.

Since the investigation’s start, several people have been detained, including four only last month. According to Sandy Springs Police, at least 15 home invasions occurred in the previous year, with victims that included Marlo Hampton from “Real Housewives of Atlanta,” rapper Gunna, and athletes for the Atlanta Falcons and Atlanta United.

Carey paid $5.65 million for the opulent house in November 2021. The residence was acquired via a management firm connected to Carey that has a California mailing address in common with Mirage Entertainment Inc., a talent agency whose CEO Carey is.

Whether anything was taken from Carey’s house during the break-in is unknown. In an Instagram post, Hampton shared her story and urged other women in the entertainment industry to do their research and exercise caution when posting information about their whereabouts and possessions online.
