Show Dem Camp Electrifies London With Palmwine Fest, Features Surprise Act Davido
Show Dem Camp (SDC) is a seasoned musical ensemble that has made significant contributions to Hip Hop and Alternative music in Nigeria. Show Dem Camp presented the London installment of their Palmwine Fest performance on Sunday, September 17, 2023, at the KOKO in Camden.
They astounded fans with a collection of their great songs that covers the four Palm Wine Music albums and combines Highlife, Hip Hop, Jazz, Funk, and a number of other genres to create an outstanding brand of music that has gained them millions of listeners.
The surprise performance of the evening came from African megastar Davido, who also sang his top-charting single “Unavailable” and the song “Na Money,” a team effort with Cavemen and Angelique Kidjo off his record-breaking fourth album “Timeless.”
The rap duo has been touring for some time and has had great success selling out shows. Show Dem Camp, one of the pioneers of the Alte sound, have expanded their Palmwine Music Festival to North America. Palmwine Festival, the first ever African music festival, was established by Show Dem Camp in Lagos and held its fifth iteration in December 2022 with over 5,000 attendees.
Since its first event in 2017, it has established itself as a yearly tradition in Lagos and London. New York, Montreal, Chicago, California, Toronto, Atlanta, and more cities have since joined the mix.
