The Weeknd Reportedly Makes Massive Food Donation To Gaza Again

The ongoing conflict in Palestine has left many people displaced and starving. While several celebrities have chosen to remain silent on the matter, some have stepped up to help the victims in any way they can. Among them is The Weeknd, who has significantly contributed to the cause.

In December 2020, The Weeknd made a massive donation of 4 million meals to help feed those affected by the conflict. He has continued his support by donating another $2 million through his XO humanitarian fund. This time, the donation takes the form of 18 million loaves of bread, which can feed 157,000 Palestinians for an entire month.

In a statement released earlier, the president of the World Food Program expressed his gratitude to The Weeknd for his continued support. The president acknowledged that hunger is a human-made problem that can be solved with sufficient funding and safe access. He thanked Abel for his contribution, which will go a long way in ensuring that families and children in need receive the food they desperately require.

Besides his charitable efforts, The Weeknd has also made waves in the music industry. Recently, he appeared on two of the most significant rap records of the year, featuring Future & Metro Boomin’s “We Don’t Trust You” and “We Still Don’t Trust You” tracks. Although some fans speculate that he may have taken shots at Drake on the latter track, if he did, it was in a much less direct way than other rappers who have recently targeted the artist. Overall, The Weeknd’s contribution to the relief efforts for the victims of the Palestine conflict is commendable. His efforts will help ensure that most of those affected by the violence get the necessary assistance.
