The Year I Turned 21 is the follow-up to her debut studio album, 19 & Dangerous, which came out three years ago. On that album, she released the hit song “Rush,” which was among the first to receive a Grammy nomination for best African music performance.

Even fellow celebrities like Nigerian music icon Wizkid, who expressed support by reposting the album’s artwork and tracklist, are looking forward to the music star’s forthcoming release. Recently, Starr worked with Rvssian and Rauw Alejandro on the song “Santa,” which debuted this week at No. 36 on Billboard Global Excl. US and is now ranked No. 13 on Hot Latin Songs.
