BBN’s Whitemoney Shares Honest Take On His Music; Says It Hasn’t “Paid Him Yet”

Singer and reality TV personality Hazel Onyeze Onou, better known by his stage name Whitemoney, has disclosed that he has not yet begun to earn money from his music. In an interview with BBC Igbo, Whitemoney discussed his music career in detail. He stated that while music hasn’t yet brought in a sizable sum of money for him, he is still focused on the broader picture, spreading a powerful message. He acknowledged that his voice wasn’t very good and clarified that he sings for himself and no one else.

In an exclusive interview, the former BBNaija housemate, Whitemoney, shared his lofty ambitions. He strongly desired to leave his mark on the Afro-highlife music scene and even mentioned his sights on a Grammy. The reality star, now a musician, boldly declared that “Oyoyo,” his most recent song, is worthy of the esteemed award.

He said;

“The truth is singing has not started paying me, I do not get money from streaming, but I get money from performances. I do not have the best voice but I have a message and melody.

“People criticise me, even those paid to criticise me, what you need to know is that I do not sing to make you feel fine or please you because you do not feed me or fund my musical career.”
