Billie Piper Reveals She’s Still In £9M Debt To Virgin Records

Billie Piper, an actress and celebrated singer, has revealed shocking facts about her financial situation. Despite her successful career, the star has disclosed that she is still in debt to Virgin Records, reportedly around £9 million. Piper signed with Innocent Records, a subsidiary of Virgin Records, as a teenager in 1998 and released her debut single ‘Because We Want To’ under the label. Speaking on Jessie Ware’s Table Manners podcast, the 38-year-old star opened up about her ongoing financial struggle with Virgin Records.

“I’m still in debt to Virgin. If I ever release an album, which I won’t, I’d probably have to pay off that debt. It’s like a university debt.”

Billie Piper, the celebrated British singer and actor, recently opened up about her experience as a pop star. After pursuing her music career, Piper landed the role of Rose Tyler in the popular sci-fi series Doctor Who. Later, she starred in the drama series Secret Diary of a Call Girl and, more recently, in the Sky Atlantic production I Hate Suzie. Despite achieving three UK Number One singles by the turn of the century, Piper admitted that she didn’t enjoy the pressures of being a pop star. She released two studio albums on Innocent, a British record label, which were both highly successful. The first album, ‘Honey To The B’, was released in 1998 and became an instant hit. It featured a mix of R&B, pop, and hip-hop sounds, showcasing Piper’s vocal range. The second album, ‘Walk of Life’, was released in 2000 and continued her streak of success. It featured a more mature sound, with Piper exploring love, loss, and self-discovery themes. Both albums made it to the Top 20 charts, solidifying Piper’s place as a rising star in the music industry.

“You do all these big promotional tours which I absolutely hated. I hated going off,”
