Olukorede “Kay” Ikazoboh Is Appointed Head Of Virgin Music’s Nigerian Division

Music industry professional Olukorede ‘Kay’ Ikazoboh has been selected as the organization’s leader at Virgin Music Group, a branch of Universal Music Group’s international network. The decision comes after the company’s entry into the African market in June of last year.

It now boasts collaborations with more than 50 labels and 100 musicians from 25 different African nations. According to that statement, it “played a major role in many of the world’s emerging popular music genres, including Afrobeats.” With Kimani Moore Entertainment, Ikazoboh is a seasoned music manager who will be headquartered in Lagos.

She is recognized with helping to advance the careers of Odunsi the Engine, Mowalola, and Tay Iwar, among others, while serving in various capacities at the Emerging Markets division of Warner Music Group before to taking on her new position. Among the first musicians whose signing to Virgin was confirmed are Dvpper and Reekado Banks.

Nigeria is becoming more and more on the radar of international music labels thanks to the Afrobeats genre’s influence on the world stage. The Nigerian singer-songwriter and performer Larry Gaaga was appointed last week by the creative services company gamma as its vice-president and general manager for Africa, based in Lagos.
