“Calm Down” By Rema Becomes The First Song To Spend A Year On The Billboard Chart

The hit song “Calm Down,” which features Selena Gomez, by Nigerian music sensation Rema, also known as Divine Ikubor, has achieved a significant milestone. The song has created history by becoming the first Afrobeats song to ever spend a whole year at the top of the Billboard US Afrobeats Songs list.

On Monday, American data collection business Chart Data made this information official. ‘Calm Down’ has maintained the #1 spot on the Billboard US Afrobeats Songs list for 52 weeks in a row. The song rose to the top of the Canadian Top Songs chart, demonstrating its broad appeal, although only reaching third place on the famous Billboard Hot 100 chart.

‘Calm Down’s’ entry into the prestigious Guinness World Records is an added accomplishment. The song holds the distinction of being the first No. 1 Hit on The Official MENA Chart, the first regional streaming chart in the history of the world. This achievement was made possible by the song’s astonishing No. 1 debut on the MENA Chart, which the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI) unveiled on November 29, 2022.

Unquestionably, Rema’s “Calm Down” has cemented its place in musical history. This position has been strengthened by the song’s amazing year-long voyage on the Billboard charts and its several successes at the top of different music charts.
