Doja Cat’s newest track, “Paint the Town Red,” has garnered impressive success, serving as her second top single after “Say So,” featuring Nicki Minaj, released in 2020. The most recent Billboard report reveals that “Paint the Town Red” has amassed 32.1 million radio airplay audience impressions, 27.7 million streams, and 8,000 downloads.

At the beginning of the year, Doja Cat publicly declared her decision to relinquish her status as a pop star and concentrate on refining her skills in rap. In April, she utilized her Twitter account to disclose her intentions of adopting a fresh approach to her music.

“No more pop,”. “I also agree with everyone who said the majority of my rap verses are mid and corny.”

She continued:

“I know they are. I wasnt trying to prove anything I just enjoy making music but I’m getting tired of hearing yall say that i can’t so I will.”

When asked about her new direction, a fan suggested that haters influenced her decision, to which she responded that pop music no longer excites her.
