Common’s Split From Tiffany Haddish Was Reportedly Not Mutual And Was Ended Over The Phone

According to a recent account of the 2021 breakup by the Girls Trip actress, Common and Tiffany Haddish parted ways amicably. Haddish gave her account of what happened to what she called the “healthiest [and] the funnest relationship” she’s ever had in an interview with The Washington Post that was published on Thursday (July 20).

“It wasn’t mutual,” Haddish said, uncovering that the rapper called it quits with her over a phone call. “It was more him saying, ‘I think this relationship has run its course.’ And I was like, ‘Okay. Like you gonna be a 50-year-old single man. Okay?’”

In an interview with Jackass actor Steve-O for his podcast Steve-O’s Wild Ride in August 2020, Haddish made her first public admission that she and Common were dating. In typical Tiffany Haddish fashion, she also admitted fairly crudely that their friendship had evolved into something more intimate than a Bumble date.

For a while, everything appeared to be going well for the pair; Common once expressed how much their relationship had helped him grow on the People Every Day podcast. Common claimed that he and Haddish were simply too preoccupied to have a serious relationship.

Common and his ex-girlfriend Kim Jones have a 24-year-old daughter together. Erykah Badu and tennis player Serena Williams were once romantically associated with him.  Additionally, Haddish disclosed her endometriosis diagnosis and the fact that she is currently unsure whether or not to pursue adoption elsewhere in the interview.

She added that after taking parenting classes last year to prepare for motherhood, she’s now hesitant, primarily due to her schedule.
