Davido Discloses His Pick For The Headies’ Next Rated Award
Rapper Odumodublvck is predicted by popular Nigerian musician David Adeleke, nicknamed Davido, to win the Next Rated category of the 2023 Headies Awards ahead of Asake and Seyi Vibez. Odumodublvck recently became famous after his viral track “Declan Rice” became a smash. On the other hand, Asake and Seyi Vibez have dominated the Nigerian music scene ever since their debut albums last year.
The 2023 Headies Awards candidates have not yet been revealed, but Davido has predicted that the “Declan Rice” singer will take home the prized title of the Next Rated best newcomer. The rapper recently uploaded a video of the rapper and the OBO Crooner’s video discussion on his social media pages.
Odumodu, since getting signed to Native Records in November, and releasing the smash single “Picanto” with Zlatan and Ecko Miles, has been on a new high. Of all the co-signs he has been receiving, the one from OBO has been mindblowing and unprecedented. Before sharing this above clip on Big Gun’s Instagram, both artists quickly bonded and became clubbing and hangout pals.
So, hearing Davido back Odumodu for the next Headies award in the most coveted category does not come as a shock. What’s funny is that Odumodublvck’s father had mocked him by calling him “Davido” while the rapper struggled to get his sound out there. The turn of events now dresses up that jest as a blessing in disguise.
