Footage that surfaced on social media platforms, particularly a video shared on Tuesday, showcased the aftermath of the incident. The video depicted a trail of liquid feces running down the aisle of the aircraft. Following the incident, it took cleanup crews a commendable five hours to thoroughly clean and sanitize the jet. The cleanup operation involved replacing the sodden carpets entirely. Passengers on board, numbering 336, had to wait for hours before they could continue their journey to Barcelona. Despite the extensive cleanup, many passengers commended the crew’s efficiency and noted that the aircraft seemed even cleaner during the subsequent flight.
Delta Airlines, in a statement to the media, confirmed the incident, describing it as an “unexpected medical event.” The airline expressed its commitment to passenger safety and comfort, stating, “Our teams worked as quickly and safely as possible to thoroughly clean the airplane and get our customers to their final destination. We sincerely apologize to our customers for the delay and inconvenience to their travel plans.”
