Actress and Mother of Regina Daniels Takes on New Political Role

Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has made a significant appointment by bringing Nollywood actress, Rita Daniels, into his administration. Daniels, known for her contributions to the Nigerian film industry and as the mother of popular actress Regina Daniels, has been appointed as the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Women Mobilization & Empowerment.

The announcement was made by Daniels herself through her official Instagram page. This move by the governor is seen as a strategic one, given Daniels’ influence and her previous roles in women’s mobilization. Before this appointment, she held a leadership position in the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Women Wing. Her role there was pivotal in garnering women’s support for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) during the recent governorship election.

Daniels’ appointment has been met with positive reactions from her fans and followers. On social media platforms, especially Twitter, users have been celebrating the news with the hashtag #OsatoTheMovie, referencing her contributions to the film industry.

In her announcement, Daniels expressed her gratitude to Governor Oborevwori for the trust placed in her. She wrote, “Delta State Governor Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori has appointed a Women rights advocate, Chief Mrs Rita Daniels Chukwuji as his Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Women Mobilization & Empowerment.” She further highlighted her commitment to advancing the welfare and development of women over the years.

Given her recent achievements, including bagging a degree in law, Daniels is expected to bring her wealth of experience to this new role. As a technocrat, her appointment is seen as a move that will ensure effective service delivery in the area of women’s mobilization and empowerment.

Apart from her political engagements, Daniels enjoys significant support from women in Delta and is also recognized in all Igbo speaking states due to her association with the leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo.

In her message, Daniels assured the people of Delta State of her commitment to promoting the state’s interests and working towards the betterment of women in the region.
