UK-Based Jamaican Disc Jockey Alleges Grammy-Winning Singer Slapped His Hand Away

During a recent interview with Ruggedman TV, UK-based Jamaican disc jockey, DJ Magic Jay, recalled an unpleasant encounter with Nigerian Grammy-winning artist, Wizkid. He alleges that Wizkid slapped his hand away when he attempted to greet the singer at a concert in 2018.

The incident reportedly occurred at Ycee’s concert held at the O2 Academy in Islington, London. As a fan of Nigerian afrobeat music, DJ Magic Jay was keen to meet Wizkid. He stated, “I walked in, I went to greet him, I said, ‘Hi, how are you doing, Wizkid? My name is Cool Magic Jay; a Jamaican guy who loves afrobeat.’ I went to shake his hand, and he slapped my hand away.”

The host of Ruggedman TV, legendary Nigerian rapper Ruggedy Baba, probed further into this incident. DJ Magic Jay, who appeared visibly disheartened by the encounter, expressed a desire to interview Wizkid to gain a deeper understanding of the singer’s alleged reaction.

DJ Magic Jay’s claims have sparked an online debate among fans of both artists. This incident has added a new dimension to discussions surrounding artist-fan interactions in the music industry, highlighting the need for open dialogues about respect and communication.

As of now, Wizkid has not publicly responded to these claims. The audience and fans eagerly wait for his response, hoping for clarity on this incident and perhaps, an end to the brewing controversy.
