Iyanya Explains How Yvonne Nelson Tricked Him Into Endorsing Her Book
Iyanya Onoyom Mbuk, popularly known as Iyanya, a Nigerian artist, has described how Ghanaian actress Yvonne Nelson conned him into endorsing her memoir without knowing he was in it. Aside from revealing that Ghanaian artist Sarkodie forced her to have an abortion, Yvonne Nelson opened up about her failed relationship with Iyanya.
She accused the “One Side” singer of having an affair with Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh while they were still an item. Iyanya, who made fun of his ex-lover after the accusation, claims that he spoke with her just before the book’s release, thus the disclosures about him in the book came as a surprise.
“I was hurt. I won’t lie to you. She called that she was launching a book and needed a video to endorse the book but I didn’t know I was in the book,” he said. “I did that because we are cool. So it was when the book came out and I knew I was in the book.”
Iyanya revealed in an interview with Starr FM that Yvonne requested him for a video to support the book but neglected to let him know that he had been prominently featured without his permission. The singer claims that he complied with the request since it was reasonable and that he was upset to learn that he was mentioned in the book.
Iyanya expressed regret for focusing on lies rather than Yvonne during his interview on Starr Drive with Foster Aggor. He acknowledged that they were soul mates, and the tattoo he had of her initials served as a visual reminder that he carried a piece of her with him wherever he went.
