Ja Rule Teases His First New Album In Almost Ten Years In Advance Of His 25th Anniversary Tour

Ja Rule has made hints to releasing his debut album in more than ten years. The former Murder Inc. hit-maker announced via his X account on Tuesday, January 2, that he is in “album mode” to kick off the new year.

2012 saw the release of Ja Rule’s last album, Pain Is Love 2, which sold just over 3,000 copies in its first week and peaked at No. 197 on the Billboard 200 list.

This was the Queens, New York native’s first studio album in eight years since R.U.L.E. released back in 2004, which churned out the hits “New York” with Fat Joe and Jadakiss and “Wonderful” with R. Kelly and Ashanti.

The album teaser appears ahead of Ja Rule’s The Sunrise Tour, which honors the rapper’s 25 years in the industry since the publication of Venni Vetti Vecci, his debut album, in 1999.

With shows in Cardiff, London, Birmingham, Nottingham, Leeds, Liverpool, Newcastle, Dublin, Belfast, and Glasgow in March, the 47-year-old will be starting things started in the UK and Ireland.

More dates will be revealed soon. Mya, Keri Hilson, and Lloyd will accompany him on the road. When questioned before about the likelihood of a new album in June 2023, Ja Rule merely advised fans to “get ready.”
