Jeffrey Osborne Hit With A Lawsuit By Two Women Alleging He ‘Embarrassed’ And ‘Humiliated’ Them At A Concert

Jeffrey Osborne, a renowned American R&B musician, is being sued by two women who claim he participated in reckless and discriminatory behavior during one of his concerts, leaving them “emotionally disturbed.”

On Tuesday, Danielle Buchanan and Maneva Currie filed a complaint in California’s Superior Court against the 75-year-old singer and the Greek Theater, the location of his performance. They said that Osborne purposefully caused them emotional pain and that the Greek Theater was careless and in violation of the Unruh Civil Rights Act, which shields Californian businesses from discriminatory practices.

At one of Osborne’s May 6, 2023, shows at the Greek Theater, according to the two women, the singer asked his crew to find an audience member to assist him in singing his 1986 hit song, “You Should Be Mine (The Woo Woo Song).” The complaint states that Buchanan was finally chosen by the team to sing “Can you woo woo woo?” into the microphone while having her face projected on the two enormous screens on either side of the stage by means of a “camera directed” at her.

By announcing, “I’m White,” over the microphone, Buchanan attempted to lighten the situation, claiming she was “shocked, embarrassed, and humiliated” by Osborne’s remarks. But his team took the microphone away and looked for another recipient. Currie asserted that the whole situation had “embarrassed and humiliated” her as well.
