John Lennon’s 1965 “HELP” Guitar Goes Up For Auction

John Lennon’s long-lost Framus 12-string Hootenanny acoustic guitar, one of the most historically significant Beatles guitars in rock history, was recently discovered by Julien’s Auctions from Hard Rock Cafe in Piccadilly Circus.

Following their compelling announcement, Beatles legend Ringo Starr was reunited with the lost guitar, which was used in recording The Beatles’ Help! album and film, as well as many of the Fab Four’s greatest hits from the 1960s. After being lost for more than 50 years, this amazing guitar was rediscovered in a UK attic. It was long forgotten and thought to be lost.

The most significant Beatles guitar ever to hit the market, it is predicted to surpass its estimate of $600,000-$800,000 (£485,000–£647,000 GBP) and break the record for the most Beatles guitar sold worldwide at Julien’s Auctions’ historic two-day Music Icons auction, which will take place live on May 29 and 30 at the Hard Rock Cafe in New York and online.

The guitar, along with other highlights from Music Icons, will be on show in the window of Hard Rock Cafe Piccadilly Circus in London through Monday, April 29. After that, it will travel to New York, where it will be on display from Wednesday, May 22, to Tuesday, May 28 at Hard Rock Cafe New York, before going up for auction.
