Nelly Pays Sweet Tribute To Girlfriend Ashanti On Her 43rd Birthday
Nelly posted a heartfelt tribute to his girlfriend on Instagram on Friday in honor of her 43rd birthday. The 48-year-old singer wrote, “One time for the birthday girl,” accompanied a video that included numerous pictures and snippets of the couple having fun together and Chris Lane’s song “Birthday Girl” as the song’s soundtrack.
In 2003, Nelly and Ashanti started dating. They later split up after a decade, then got back together after another ten years. After the two performers were seen together during the past few months, rumors of a reconciliation started to spread.
The two performed “Body on Me” on stage together in June when Ashanti invited Nelly out during her Las Vegas performance at the Palms Casino Resort. The two previously made an appearance together in May at the Quality Control CEO Pierre “P” Thomas’ third annual birthday ball at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta.
The two were spotted at the boxing event between Ryan Garcia and Gervonta Davis the month before at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. They were seen shaking hands after the fight on camera. During an interview on the Boss Moves with Rasheeda program, currently streaming on Philo, Nelly officially verified the rumors that the two had reunited last month.
