Nissi, Burna Boy’s sister, has reacted to Davido’s recent description of Burna Boy as a “new cat” in an interview.
Nissi, the sister of African juggernaut Burna Boy, has used her social media platform to respond to the statement made by the 30BG CEO in an interview Davido recently gave to Brut Afrique in which he detailed how afrobeats became a contemporary phenomenon in the world of music.
In the interview, Davido admitted that he and Grammy-winning musician Wizkid created the worldwide afrobeats wave. He continued by saying that the ‘new cats’, like Burna Boy, Rema, Asake, and many more, have advanced the wave to a higher level. This sparked discussion about Burna’s classification as a “new cat” on social media.
Nissi, the sister of Burna Boy, was one of many people who reacted to Davido’s statement by posting a video of her brother performing in the London Stadium in front of nearly 80,000 spectators on her Instagram account with the message, “new cats dey face their hustle.”
The musician and artist Nissi shared a video of Governor Wike responding to trolls in a different post, adding alongside it, “Wike is indirectly saying; As e dey pain Dem e dey sweet us.” Many have since started discussing about her post. While some fans support Nissi, a few have taken the opportunity to criticize her.
