Tiwa Savage Shares Her Opinion On The Global Appeal Of Afrobeats

Nigerian Afrobeats icon, Tiwa Savage, shares her thoughts on the genre’s success worldwide.

Tiwa Savage stated in a new interview that she thought the time was right to pursue her artistic ambitions outside of music, and that working on the film provided her with the chance. The soundtrack record, which included cameos from Ayra Starr, Young Jonn, Black Sheriff, Cavemen, and others, was published on May 10, 2024, concurrently with the film titled “Water & Garri.”

Tiwa Savage was questioned about her experience working with Brandy during the interview. The American R&B legend was the reason the Nigerian singer started singing, thus she said it was a really special event for her. Speaking on the globalization of Afrobeats, Tiwa Savage said it was a “full circle” moment because all music originates in Africa and it was just a matter of time until African music received the recognition it deserved on a worldwide scale.

Nigerian phenomenon Ayra Starr identified Tiwa Savage as one of the female African musicians making waves on the international scene when she was interviewed on Kiss Fresh. In reaction, Tiwa Savage said that Ayra Starr is a wonderful single person who she truly loves. Tiwa Savage also mentioned how happy she is to watch Ayra Starr take on the role of a female sex symbol.
