Ruggedman Shares His Scathing Opinion On Afrobeats

Nigerian Rapper, Ruggedman, has made disparaging remarks about Nigerian Afrobeats celebrities, claiming they lack talent.

Michael Ugochukwu Steven, also known as Ruggedman, shared his opinion that many untalented people are utilizing the Afrobeats moniker as a shield in an open interview with Chude Jideonwo.

When asked about Afrobeats, he made it clear that, in his opinion, the genre is merely a front worn by a lot of unskilled people. The idea that “Afrobeats” introduced the globe should be attributed to individual musicians rather than the genre, according to Ruggedman.

He also revealed that, in spite of the criticism he receives regarding his artistic importance, he takes comfort in the knowledge that his critics are probably impacted by his creations. He continued by talking about his friendship with 9ice.

Despite being the one to connect artist 9ice to his ex-wife, Toni Payne, Ruggedman revealed that he was taken aback to learn that he had not received an invitation to their wedding. On one Saturday, he said, he got a phone from 9ice’s ex-wife telling him it was their wedding day and that 9ice had specifically told her not to invite him.

9ice and Toni Payne called it quits after the singer claimed his wife had an illicit affair with Ruggedman.
