Performance Fees For Afrobeats Stars Tiwa Savage, Rema, Others Revealed
The market for Nigerian music has grown recently due to its stars’ success in popularizing the Afrobeat genre and their higher earnings today than in previous years. The performance fees for some Afrobeat celebrities, including Tiwa Savage and Rema, were recently made public online, and this information sparked various strong reactions from online users.
Performance fees are a significant source of income for musicians in the music business. As Afrobeats continues to gain popularity worldwide, musicians are being paid more to perform at various events, shows, and concerts. Since the emergence of Afrobeats, artists have been able to command higher fees for their performances at events, shows, and concerts, which has remained a significant source of their income.
Adeshola Adefuwa-Cole, the CEO of Cole Management Services, claims that many of the top musicians in Nigeria now prefer to charge their fees in dollars, whether domestically or abroad, to keep up with market forces. Adefuwa-Cole disclosed the average event fee for some of the biggest Nigerian music acts. He affirms that Rema charges $200,000 and Tiwa Savage $100,000. Tems and Ayra Starr each demand $50,000. Asake bills $100,000, and Kizz Daniel asks for $200,000.
He added:
“The booking must be confirmed before the contract is signed and it must be one business class and 6 economy return tickets from Lagos. For accommodation, it is one penthouse suite, one premium suite and ten single standard rooms.
“For Per-diem or daily allowance, it is $300 (Artiste), $200 (Manager) and $100 (crew) daily per person. And also, ground transportation and security must be provided,”
Adefuwa-Cole also outlined some of the specific requirements for booking these musicians. The reservation must be confirmed before the contract is signed, and it must include business class and economy round-trip tickets, as well as six return tickets in the latter class from Lagos. Ten single standard rooms, one penthouse suite, and one premium suite should be available for guests. The artists must also be given sufficient ground transportation and security during their engagements. This breakdown clarifies the costs of hiring famous Nigerian musicians for performances and events.
Additionally, crew members are entitled to daily per diems of $300, $200, and $100 for artists, managers, and artists. This revelation has, however, elicited some reactions from online users who expressed their surprise that Rema made more money than Tiwa Savage in the comments section as well as how far Asake has come, Rema’s continued global reach, and Kizz Daniel’s “Hit-on-Hits.”
