UK Agency Denies FKA Twigs’ “Racist” Claims Over Banned Calvin Klein Ad As Star Calls “Double Standards” In Decision
Though the regulatory body that rejected her most recent collaboration with CK calls it “bullsh*t,” FKA Twigs has implied that the UK’s decision to ban her Calvin Klein advertisement was unfair and appeared to indicate that race was a factor, as she penned her thoughts in an IG post. The UK’s Advertising Standards Authority, which has jurisdiction over this kind of activity, informed the media that their duty and offence regulations serve as the exclusive basis for their ultimate determination of whether to keep or remove an advertisement. According to them, FKA’s ad broke them on objectification and inappropriate targeting. The photo in question shows Twigs revealing some side boobs and buttocks but covering the rest of her with a denim shirt—not the most racist shot in the world if you ask many. However, it has been noted that Kendall Jenner’s equally risqué CK advertisement was just given a free pass into Europe.
