Wizkid Delivers A Moving Speech At Mum’s Funeral
The iconic Wizkid, one of Nigeria’s finest artists, displayed an emotional side at the wake service for his late mother, Madam Juliana Morayo Balogun. On Thursday, October 12, 2023, a wake was held at the Federal Palace Hotel in Lagos, and videos from the occasion circulated on social media.
In the video shared on Instagram by @goldmynevibes, showed Wizkid taking the stage to deliver an emotional address on his mother’s passing. According to the “Mummy Mi” singer, he has no way to properly convey his pain, and it will never go away.
Wizkid went on to say that his mother’s death was the deepest pain he has ever encountered in his life. He prayed to God to console him, his siblings, and other family members. According to the music sensation, he didn’t think he’d be able to speak at the ceremony, but he expressed gratitude to all of his sisters, aunts, and other family members.
The footage of Wizkid’s heartfelt statement at his mother’s wake ceremony moved many of the singer’s fans, who gathered to mourn his loss.
Wizkid’s mother was born on July 14, 1957. She is survived by her husband Muniru Olatunji Balogun and four children: Yetunde Balogun, Omolara Osunkoya, Olubusayo Balogun, and Wiz.
