6LACK Teams Up With AI Platform Endel To Reinvent “Since I Have A Lover”

Six months after releasing his third studio album, “Since I Have Lover,” 6LACK has collaborated with artificial intelligence (AI) platform Endel to reimagine the project as two distinct soundscapes. Endel recreated the Atlanta native’s record as two soundscapes scientifically engineered to encourage greater sleep and focus using its unique verified AI technology.

6lack teased his and Endel’s collaboration “Sounds For Slowing Down” series on Instagram this week, featuring “an ethereal listening experience of my new sleep soundscape” on Thursday, July 6, and Friday, July 7. The sessions will take place in person in Berlin and Los Angeles, as well as through the app.

Meanwhile, this unique audio technology is built on considerable brain study. In a statement, Endel CEO Oleg Stavitsky praised 6LACK’s willingness to experiment and his ability to let go and trust the process, both of which were critical to the project’s success. “Since I Have a Lover” was released in March by LVRN and Interscope Records.

Don Toliver, Wale, and QUIN made cameos on the 19-song project. It also includes pre-release tracks such as “Fatal Attraction” and the title track. The collaboration is touted as an extension of 6lack’s mental health advocacy, taking place on purpose during BIPOC Mental Health Awareness Month. These soundscapes could prove useful for 6lack on his upcoming Since I Have A Lover Tour, which kicks off in October.
