Actor Jimmy Odukoya Succeeds Late Father As Senior Pastor Fountain Of Life Church; Installation Service Date Revealed
The Fountain of Life Church has selected Jimmy to succeed his late father as senior pastor. Pastor Jimmy Odukoya, also known as PJ, a Nollywood actor and the late Taiwo and Bimbo Odukoya’s son, has been appointed the Fountain of Life Church’s new senior pastor. The decision to appoint Jimmy as the new senior pastor was made after carefully considering his qualifications and dedication to the church. With his acting background and strong family ties to the church, Jimmy brings a unique perspective and a deep understanding of the church’s values and mission.
On Sunday, September 17, 2023, Jimmy’s appointment was disclosed during the church service. This development came when Taiwo Odukoya, the church’s most recent senior pastor, passed away on August 17, 2023, in the United States at 67. Last Saturday, the famous pastor was laid to rest in a private service attended by family and close friends.
Rotimi Okpaise, a Fountain of Life Church pastor, announced the leadership shift by stating that the late Odukoya confided in the Board of Trustees (BoT) members about the succession plan before his passing. Speaking to the audience, Okpaise explained that the BoT had unanimously chosen Jimmy to serve as the senior pastor and board chair.
He stated:
“The board has chosen Saturday, September 30, 2023, as the date of Jimmy’s installation,”
Odukoya died less than two years after his wife Nomthi Odukoya, a 47-year-old South African woman, lost her fight with cancer on November 9, 2021. They had two kids together and were married for 11 years.
Odukoya previously had a 21-year marriage to Bimbo, who died in the tragic Sosoliso plane crash in Port Harcourt in 2005, before Nomthi. The coupling of Odukoya and Bimbo resulted in the birth of three children, among them Jimmy, who is currently in charge.
On the other hand, Jimmy portrayed Oba Ade, one of the main characters in the Netflix film “Woman King.” The musician-actor has also appeared in films including “Oga Pastor,” “Lifting the Veil,” and “I am Nazzy,” among others. Jimmy is a motivational speaker, actor and singer, which may have helped him with his new task.
