BBN Uriel Freezes “Eggs”; Says Time Is Running Out As Search For “Mr. Right” Continues
Famous BBN reality star Uriel Oputa has drawn attention to some of the fates women face as she created a stir on social media by freezing her eggs and lamenting the passing of time while she waits for the “perfect man.” The BBNaija star visited a fertility centre to freeze her fertile eggs and preserve them for future usage, as seen in an emotive video that she posted on her Instagram page. Reactions to Uriel Oputa’s decision to freeze her eggs have been conflicting among her fan base. Some praise her for taking charge of her reproductive options, while others wonder whether social pressures influenced her to make this choice. But regardless of a partner, Uriel is still hopeful about falling in love and raising a family in the future.
The Human Fertilization and Embryology Authority [HFEA] states that egg freezing is a means of preserving a woman’s fertility to pursue family planning. To use a woman’s eggs for fertility treatment, they must be harvested, frozen, and then later defrosted. The process of harvesting and freezing a woman’s eggs is typically done through a procedure called ovarian stimulation, where medication is used to stimulate the ovaries to produce multiple eggs. Once the eggs are retrieved, they are carefully frozen using a technique called vitrification, which helps preserve their quality until they are ready to be used in fertility treatment.
The 35-year-old chef claimed it was an essential action because a woman’s ability to conceive is reduced after 30, meaning having children becomes less likely. In the video’s caption, Uriel Oputa wrote:

In the viral video, she stated,
“It’s a hard pill to swallow; at this age I am now, my mother had five children. Time is ticking for me and I am aware, so I decided to weigh my options. If that perfect man doesn’t come now, I need to secure myself and nurture my seeds.”
