Burna Boy Responds To Isreal Adesanya Defeating Alex Pereira

Nigerian kickboxer and professional mixed martial artist Israel Adesanya recently won, and heavyweight singer, songwriter, and performer Damini Ogulu, better known as Burna Boy, has responded. The Nigerian UFC fighter, also known as the Style Bender, put on a show on April 9, 2022, after defeating Brazilian opponent Alex Pereira via knockout in the second round of their contest.

The Grammy-winning musician used social media to share a tweet applauding the fighter for regaining the middleweight belt. “Congratulations champ,” wrote Burna Boy.

Adesanya, 33, won back his championship belt after losing to Pereira at UFC 281 in November 2022. This is the first time in four fights that Adesanya defeats Pereira. These two competitors also have a past outside of the UFC. Both competitors assessed each other as the main event of UFC 287 got underway, but Adesanya started to take the initiative to win the opening round.

When they did finally exchange blows to begin round two, Pereira, 35, was able to score a few kicks. Before the KO, he was really connecting on more than 60% of his blows. Adesanya, who appeared more muscular than before, was far more aggressive than in previous battles and kept Pereira on his toes.

Adesanya couldn’t hold back his joy during his post-match interview with Joe Rogan, and he confessed that he was “playing possum” before beating Pereira.
