Upon receiving another Grammy nomination in 2024, well-known Afrobeats artist Burna Boy responded to support this fantastic achievement by these gifted stars. As expected, some supporters used his congratulations on social media as banter material for opposing fans, namely targeting the African artists that were nominated with him.

Burna Boy was nominated in four Grammy Award categories for the event scheduled for 2024 last Friday. He received nominations for Best Melodic Rap Performance (for “Sittin’ On Top Of The World”), Best Global Music Album (for “I Told Them”), Best African Music Performance (for “City Boys”), and Best Melodic Rap Performance (for “Alone”). He leads the line of Nigerian artists with the most Grammy Award nominations this year, with four, as compatriot Davido has three.

Taking to X, he wrote:

“Once more, my deepest gratitude to the Grammy Academy for this incredible honor. A HUGE congrats to the talented African artists who were nominated alongside me. The true win lies in sharing these moments with you all at my shows and expressing it through my music.”
