Clean Bandit And Demi Lovato’s “Solo” Hits One Billion Views On YouTube

The five-year-old duet “Solo” by Demi Lovato and Clean Bandit is the most recent addition to YouTube’s Billion Views Club!

Since its May 2018 upload, the music video for the electronic dance track has been viewed over one billion times on the platform. In the wide-angle project, Lovato—whose voice is heard on the song—sings to the camera in between scenes showing Jack and Luke Patterson of Clean Bandit preparing a strange substance in a lab beneath a laundromat.

When a customer, portrayed by Grace Chatto of Clean Bandit, tests the medicine on her partner at the end of it, he instantly transforms into a rainbow-colored dog.

About a month after making its chart debut in July 2018, “Solo” debuted at No. 58 on the Billboard Hot 100. It was also the most searched song on Shazam that year, with Calvin Harris and Dua Lipa’s “One Kiss” and Nicky Jam and J Balvin’s “X” coming in second and third, respectively.

In August 2018, the song rose to No. 48 on the Streaming Songs chart, indicating a 14% increase in streaming that month. Sadly, Lovato was hospitalized for an almost fatal overdose just before the surge. In addition, Demi Lovato is getting ready for A Very Demi Holiday Special to debut on Roku.
