DJ Akademiks Says Drake “Has Been Waiting” For Kendrick Lamar Battle

Drake and Kendrick Lamar, one of the defining rappers of the 2010s, have engaged in a long-standing feud that has kept the music industry on edge. They have even featured on each other’s classic albums, but things took a dramatic turn after K. Dot called out Drake by name in his 2013 “Control” verse. Since then, they have been subliminally dissing each other, which has led to the explosion of diss tracks and blatant call-outs. The gloves are finally off, and both rappers are determined to engage in a full-on battle.

According to DJ Akademiks, Drake is fed up with K. Dot’s pattern of dropping combative verses and then going into hiding. “I’ve watched this guy do the same bait and switch every time,” Drake said. “He drops a verse that people are hyped up about, and I’m always ready to defend myself, but then [Lamar] goes ghostly, and nothing happens.” Akademiks also suggested that Drake’s desire to engage has fueled his trolling via social media posts and diss tracks, highlighting the diss track that K. Dot has allegedly been writing for years.

“You can tell [Drake] wants the showdown to happen now,” Ak added. “He wants it now, not for everybody to go back to their corners and reconvene another time.” While Drake constantly trolls, Lamar has been silent since he dropped the “Like That” verse. Fans have debated which approach has been more effective so far, but a decisive winner can’t be determined until Lamar responds to Drake’s “Push Ups.”

Despite their different styles, Drake and Lamar are two of the most influential rappers in the music industry. Drake’s catchy melodies and emotional lyrics have dominated the charts, while Kendrick Lamar’s complex wordplay and socially conscious message have won him critical acclaim. The outcome of this epic feud could go down in history as one of the greatest battles of all time, and fans are eagerly waiting to see who will emerge victorious.
