Grammy Awards 2024: Billboard Reveals Categories With Highest Submissions For Awards Consideration
The categories with the most and lowest entries for potential Grammy Awards 2024 nominations have been made public by the media site Billboard. Wednesday, October 11, 2023, marked the start of the Recording Academy’s second round of voting for potential nominations. The popular media site Billboard revealed the process for submitting entries by category prior to the announcement of the nominee list.
It was disclosed that the number of nominees for various categories had decreased. This was a recent development that can be ascribed to a variety of factors, one of which Billboard emphasized was the addition of an entry fee for entries beyond five “courtesy entries.” The regulation, which was mentioned in the 66th Grammy Awards rules and procedures handbook, according to Billboard, said,
“The per-entry fee structure encourages entrants to consider the value of each entry and make mindful decisions to put forward work that they truly believe is Grammy-worthy. All professional and voting members of the Recording Academy will receive five courtesy entries every year. Any member who would feel burdened by the entry fees can request the fees be waived by reaching out to the awards department.”

- Best global music performance – 280
